Trick or Treat 2013

Last Halloween Avery went to our parents house, a friend's house and a few neighbors houses trick or treating but this year was a different story. We met some friends at the mall for some trick and treating! Avery had a great time! He loves loves loves doing things with friends.
I only went trick or treating in the mall once when i was little (the year it snowed, you all know the year i am talking about....) so i wasn't really sure what to expect but it was really great. We started in the food court and pretty much walk in a line around the entire mall collecting candy, coupons or stickers at almost every store. Avery got a bunch of candy, which was fun but Avery doesnt really care for candy, unless its M&Ms.

After the mall we headed to the grandparents houses! First stop was GG & GTs where Avery had some supper before helping GT hand out candy (Handing out candy i think was the highlight of his night!)

Happy Halloween! This morning when i woke Avery up I told him it was Halloween and he said, "It's Here! Where?" Couldn't help but smile at this response! Our Halloween plans will include some trick or treating  so be on the look out for an Alligator tonight!

Since being an Alligator all day is hard work Avery opted for a skeleton with Shrek ears for his Halloween daytime look!

Craving Pumpkins 2013

Pumpkin wagon!

Craving pumpkins is one of my favorite Halloween traditions! But before you crave you have to find the perfect pumpkin! This year we went to a road side "Hey by George" wagon that had all sorts of pumpkins, gourds, hay bales and fun fall things to pick from.

 It was a though choice so we ended up with a "Bert", an "Ernie" and a "bumpy" and a snake!

Once we got the pumpkins home and washed we started craving. Avery watched Daddy cut the tops off and then well all began the cleaning process. Not sure why but we decided to separate the seeds so that Avery could try them, most likely will not be doing that again.

 Daddy craved his first pumpkin in.... well, awhile, with the help of his trusty assistant. Craving pumpkins can be a lot work but a lot fun too!

Trick or Treating with the Mavericks

Games and Treats on a Sunday afternoon, what isn't too love. Put on by the Atletic team teams at MSU Trick or Treat with the Maverick is a great event.
 We went last year and had fun so of course we went again this year but Avery was too tired from all the fun we had already that day so he was being shy and well just too tired to have much fun.

 

We knew it was a long shot when he fell asleep on the drive across town, but we gave it a try  and got just enough candy!

 

Avery was too shy to play with his favorite Volleyball team, and didn't want to throw a football when it was his turn but he did show his bean bag skills off with the wrestling team and threw a few softballs. But the highlight was Stomper!

The lines for the games were longish, and Avery was just too tired but we had a good time, we will try again next year!

Avery the Alligator

Finally the big day (night) arrived and it was time for our Alligator to party with all the other super heros, pirates and princesses and everyone else!

 When I was making the costume I knew there would be on thing that could be difficult for an alligator to do, yep sit in a car seat. But Avery the Alligator thought it was so silly to get to sit on his tail, laughed and giggle the whole way to the party.

 Once we made it to the party it was pumpkin fishing, pumpkin bean bags, witches brooms, tattoos, bowling prizes and food. And how could I forget, the balloon pit!  All kinds of spooky silly fun!
