Happy Gator!

Avery's will be kicking off his Halloween fun this year with a Halloween Party, which means I needed to have his costume done a full week before Halloween. As usual I had really no idea what I was doing, but I could see his costume in my head and I just did my best to make Avery's Alligator dreams come true. After a few trips to the fabric store, a few late nights sewing, 4 broken needles, and some blood, I was done. I am proud to introduce Avery the Alligator! Chomp!

October is filled with birthdays in our family so its really good that we have a birthday helper!  Avery the birthday helper is full service too!

Well I might be a little bias but he is pretty dang cute!

It was Fall picture time with Quality One Hour Photo and Drummer's Garden Center this past weekend.  I love the work they do, the maybe spend 5 minutes with each group and we have always gotten a great picture, and for 15$  per "sitting" which includes a print package what is not to love!

With so many fun plants and things to see Avery doesn't seem to mind going to have his picture taken either. Avery was a little bummed that there were not big trikes like last fall but he made due exploring the green house and picking out a "little pumpkin" aka a gourd. He even paid for it himself! So proud!

First Field Trip- Welsh Apple Orchard

Today Avery went on his first field trip, he went to the Welsh Apple Orchard just out side of Lake Crystal and i got to go with.

 

In preparation for the trip, the theme for this week at school was apples, and last night Avery came home and informed me the correct way to pick an apple, "Mom, you don't pick apples, you lift (raises hand) and twist (twists hand)." Lift and Twist, check, got it, but just in case i forgot Avery reviewed with me a few more times though out the night. To say Avery was excited for today was an understatement!

Avery's rooms was a buzz of excitement this morning, for weeks before the field trip Avery was beyond excited, not about the orchard, but about the fact that he was going to get to ride a school bus to the orchard! By the sounds of the chatter in his class room all the kids were pretty excited about riding a bus too.

After the bus ride what was left right, well it was time for the Orchard tour, everyone picked some apples, then we saw how they were washed and sorted then it was time to head back to the bus and go back to school.

All the kids did a great job and listened really well! I know Avery had a fantastic time, a school bus and apples with his friends what could be better!

2 years, 9 months

Such a silly boy!

Who told Avery he could grow up? More and more each day our baby/toddler disappears and becomes a big boy. Its a little sad but for the most part it is fun to see him grow and learn and change. And grow he does, he is still wearing the same sizes ( 3T Pants, 3T Shirts, Size 9 Shoes, 3T Pjs, and 2T/3T undies) but those same sizes fit him just a little differently these days.

Motorcycle Migration with Uncle Lee & Veronkia!!!!!

With winter on it's way that means that motorcycle season is coming to an end, especially in Dillon Colorado. Which means that it is time for the Motorcycle migration, west to east, Colorado to Minnesota, one of Avery's favorite times of year, because Uncle Lee and Veronika come visit!!!!
For days before he excitedly waits for them, telling everyone who will listen that Uncle Lee & Ronika are coming! When the day finally arrives, it is such a long day of waiting, because a 2.5 year old doesn't fully get where Colorado and Minnesota are on a map. My favorite part of waiting is when Avery asks, "Why Mommy does it take to so long for them to get here?" My answer. "Nebraska!"
Well they made it! And Avery was over joyed to have his friends to play with for the weekend. Before they even got here Avery had been making a list of things he wanted to do with Lee and Veronika and not 2 minutes after they arrived Avery started on his list. After all there were bikes and tikes to ride, books to read and games to play!
To Start off Avery helped Lee and Veronika stretch their legs having them take a spin on his big wheel. Didn't work out so great for uncle Lee...lol but it fun to watch him try! After a few laps on the driveway it was time to read and get ready for bed.

Day 2 of fun kicked off with Avery helping work on motorcycles. Avery is a very valuable assistant!

 After that there were more games to play, trucks to drive, books to read.

Sadly they could only stay a few days, but that was enough time to have an early birthday party and have some cake.

Avery had so much fun, he was very sad to see them go but I told him we will see them again, that seemed to be okay with him, so he started making a list of things to do the next time they come. "After all", he said,"We have their motorcycles!"

Cavity Free Club

Cavity Free!

Avery joined the Cavity Free Club today! As someone that actually enjoys going to the Dentist I was really excited to finally take Avery. We chose to take Avery to Pediatric & Adolescent Dentistry, we had heard great things and well Avery is a kid and that is what they specialize in. And We choose right! Walking to the building Avery stated that it looked like a library, a very good thing to him. Once inside there was a giant climber!

As an extra bonus there was another little boy waiting too so they got to play make believe food service together while they waited.

Once it was Avery’s turn we walked into the back with the Hygienist who was extremely nice and very encouraging. He did great, he was a little wary of what the Hygienists was doing, but he willingly let her count, brush and floss his teeth. And of course he loved riding in the chair.

Avery got a little break between his “cleaning” (with his new Blue Jake and the Pirates toothbrush) and when the Dentist came, so he got to play with felt animals on the wall.  Who knew going to the dentist could be so much fun!

When the Dentist came and took a look and Avery was again complemented on having brushed so well and being such a good little boy. After giving us the a-ok, we were on our way with 3 stickers!!!

One last stop at the climber and we were out the door! A very, very, successful first trip to the dentist! Best part, as we were driving back to daycare Avery kept smiling and saying, “I have pretty teeth!!” 

Hopefully 6 months from know things go just was well!
