Borrowed Light

Avery was lucky enough to attend his first art gallery show opening this weekend. It was for my cousin Mark's photography. You never know what to except from a 2.5 year old in a gallery setting but he did a great job, helps that Mark had 2 pictures on display that Avery recongnized and were instantly his favorites (close ups of crayons, my all time favorites too) and lemonade and  treats.

The exhibition of photography, titled “Borrowed Light,” is now on display at the Cottonwood County Historical Society’s Remick Gallery in Windom, Minnesota. The photographs explore the world around us, from Minnesota and Wisconsin, and beyond to other locations around the United States and Europe. Mark's goal is to find the interesting angle or detail, the striking color or texture, and to borrow the light reflected by the world to seek out that which is beautiful and intriguing in our world.
Take a look at some of his photography on his website: http://www.restenergy.net/
Mark, Avery and Mom

Mark credits his passion for photography to our Grandma, she too was a "shutterbug" as Mark calls himself. I too caught the creative bug from her at an early age and it was only made stronger over the years by my other grandma, both my grandpas and my parents. It was wonderful to share this sort of event with Avery, and my family.
Well at least one of them is looking at me
Someday I am sure he will show us what his creative side has to offer, i cant wait to see what that will be.
All smiles for Borrowed Light!
