Avery recently reached a new milestone, he can now drink from an from an open cup, solo! He does an excellent job and really seems to enjoy showing off his new skill. When we first started experimenting with Avery being in charge of his own cup the result was usually a milk soaked tee shirt or a lake of milk on his tray. Avery seems to have put those days behind him and mastered (for the most part) drinking from an open cup on his own. We only put a little in his cup at a time, and we don’t leave his cup on his tray because some times the urge to be silly over comes him and he has to play with the cup or the liquid inside and the wet shirts and lakes reappear. But for only handing his own cup for a little while now, I am very impressed. I am often very impressed by the things Avery can do on his own, seeing his joy and pride in what he can do himself makes me so happy (even if that means my baby is growing up), so three cheers for Avery and his new skill!
